Connor Huynh, host of The Odds Against Us

About Me

Hi, I'm Connor

I'm a senior at Lexington High School and a youth advocate for gambling prevention. Through The Odds Against Us, I talk with researchers, advocates, and people who have lived through gambling addiction about how betting is reaching my generation.

Off the mic, I run wellness fairs at high schools across Massachusetts, where I design interactive games that teach students about the risks of gambling. My research paper on how online sports betting affects adolescents has been accepted to the Oxford Journal of Student Scholarship. When I'm not working on gambling prevention, you may find me on the golf course or the ski slopes.

On the show, I examine how modern gambling environments are shaping youth behavior. Each episode features my conversations with experts, advocates, and people with personal experience in gambling and gambling prevention.

I cover the rise of mobile and sports betting, the design mechanics platforms use to drive engagement, youth vulnerability in digital spaces, and the public health and policy questions raised by predatory gambling practices.

I also share real stories from former gamblers, offering a first-hand look at how they got drawn in and what recovery and advocacy actually look like.
